ClovisFest Soars into Town on September 19th

The Clovis Chamber is in top secret negotiations with Mother Nature so she’ll turn down the thermostat on September 19th and 20th. But even if she ignores us, we know the tens of thousands of visitors that descend on Old Town Clovis will have a delightful time at the 41st ClovisFest and Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly.

If the activity on the ClovisFest Facebook page is any indication, we should have a great crowd. In the next weeks, visit our page to see the selection of craft and food vendors as they post their information.  Download the Clovis Chamber app so you can receive clues in our Treasure Hunt with a prize of $100 cash.  The game starts at 1 pm.

The event kicks off at the Rodeo Grounds at 6:15 am with hot air balloons inflating before ascending to the sky for a quiet ride across the Valley.  Take off is around 7 am, weather permitting. Due to liability issues, there are NO RIDES for the public.

Stroll across Clovis Ave to take part in the free, family festival. The streets of Old Town are filled to the brim with craft and food booths selling all sorts of great merchandise. In the food court you’ll find a wide variety of delicious fare including Mexican food, bacon wrapped hot dogs, philly cheese steaks, sausages, fried chicken and funnel cakes from new vendor Fat Frankie’s Funnel Cakes.  Pollasky Ave will again feature crowd favorites – kettle corn, shaved ice, hot cinnamon rolls, chocolate covered fruit and fresh roasted nuts chased down by a root beer float. Look for Texas Twister smoothies and Tropical Hut with virgin pina coladas in fresh pineapples and don’t miss the cotton candy at Sweeties Candies on Fourth Street.

The Bud Light Beer Garden returns again with live, local bands while local non-profits sell Pepsi products throughout the event.

The exciting news this year is the family entertainment filling the side streets. The Don Mauer carnival will be located on both sides of 4th Street. Look for the giant Ferris wheel at Clovis Ave.

On Fifth Street, MB2 Raceway will be demonstrating their race cars on the west side of Pollasky while the Clovis North High School Robotics team will be showing off their creations. We’re really excited to present a Sand Castle competition near Clovis Ave on Saturday. The AIA San Joaquin will be building their creations that will be judged at 1 pm.

On the west side of Seventh Street is the No Surrender Laser Tag. Across Pollasky will be Luche Xtreme Wrestling, the Race Room Simulators and 4 Wheelers. Toy Haulers will once again have a display on Pollasky between Seventh and Eighth Streets.

As always, the Clovis Chamber appreciates our sponsors who have partnered with us for this production.
