The Clovis Chamber Women Business Owners' Roundtable provides great networking, business-building and brainstorming opportunities for a specific segment of our membership. It started when several women in the Chamber approached Membership Director Diana Hunnicutt and asked for a way to help themselves and other businesswomen connect and solve problems.
LaDonna Snow of Snowflake Designs, Suzanne Moles of Wattleweb Global Solutions, Dr. Treva Lee, DDS, and Nykole Hibbs of DinnerMyWay were the instigating forces in getting the group started and keeping it focused on the greatest benefit to the participants.
It was a pleasant surprise to find out that 25% of the businesses in the Clovis Chamber are either owned or co-owned by women. The group is designed to be particularly beneficial for businesses who have employees, inventory or retail locations and most of the conversations revolve around issues such as marketing, financing or HR.
Suzanne Moles says that she particularly likes the roundtable format. "It is focused on the problems we all deal with every day. There is a lot of discussion where we get help and involvement from all who attend. This kind of personal encouragement and brainstorming is why we wanted to start the group."
Unlike many other chamber activities, this group is not open to non-members, although business owning women are welcome to attend as a guest to get a sample of the value of the group. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Andiamo Ristorante Italiano (which is a woman-owned Chamber member). There is no cost to attend but ordering dinner off the menu keeps the room free for our use. For more information or to RSVP, call Diana Hunnicutt at 299-7363.
