The Legislative Issues Committee meets to examine and dissect
issues being considered in the Legislature. Some are relatively
benign, others are burdensome and can cause great harm to
California businesses.
There is no such thing as a good business bill except for one
that is undoing a bad business bill.
There are two types of legislation considered. Bills that are
voted through the legislature and propositions that are put
before the voters.
The committee studies both and takes appropriate action be it
contacting our legislators or actively campaigning in the public
against a proposition.
In either case, the Chamber membership is kept informed through
the web site, e-mails, meetings and the Chamber News.
The Legislative Issues Committee does not endorse. Instead, its
research is sent to ClovisPAC, the political action committee of
the Clovis Chamber of Commerce, that makes endorsement
decisions.
