Leadership Clovis is a two-year program that trains people for
active leadership roles in the community. Selected interns
follow a curriculum designed by Chamber members, professional
executive trainers, administrators and educators from two
universities, religious and organizational leaders and executive
officers, both active and retired.
The class teaches leadership skills that are based on ethics and
morals. The first year of the program consists of twice a month
training workshops where community and business leaders discuss
their experiences and views about their own careers. The second
year finds the class members actively working on their community
project.
Each class chooses its own project that is aimed at enhancing
the Clovis community.
Projects for each class are:
Class: 2000 - 2001 Defining the Clovis Way of Life
2001 - 2002 Creating a Student Council to define recreation
needs
2002 - 2003 Marketing the Clovis Way of Life
2003 - 2004 Promoting the Visual and Cultural Arts
2004 - 2005 Perpetuating the Clovis Way of Life
2005 - 2006 Establishing a Regional Park
2006 - 2007 A Tribute to DocĀ Buchanan
2007 - 2008 Establishing a Perpetual Scholarship Fund
New classes begin in February of each year. Applications are
available at the Chamber.
