About Us: We are part of a two year principle based leadership program called Leadership Clovis. This program is designed to develop leaders in the Clovis community. At the end of the first year, each class chooses a project to enhance and give back to the community.
Our class chose its mission after being visited by Dr. Floyd
Buchanan, the legendary founder of the Clovis Unified School
District. 'Doc" who has been called a "Clovis Living Legend”,
captured us with his vision, his message and vital energy. With
the simple philosophy, "A fair break for every kid", Doc built a
school district that became nationally and sometimes even
internationally recognized for excellence. We chose our project
to capture history, to honor a great educator, and to create a
permanent monument to a man who caused such extraordinary change
and development in the Valley.
