PROGRAM FACILITATOR, ED FLORES
 Raised in Clovis, California and a graduate of Jefferson Elementary and Clovis High School, Ed still lives in Clovis with Linda his wife of 41 years. His 29 year old daughter Shauna is a Missionary Teacher with YWAM in Kona, HI.
An active member of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce since 1989, Ed served on the Chamber Board of Directors several years before accepting a position on staff at the Chamber in the mid 90’s.
As Vice President of Membership with the Clovis Chamber of Commerce from April 1994 to September 2002 his duties included direct sales, data management, website development, member related electronic communications, staff liaison for the Ambassadors, Real Estate Committee, Shaw Ave Business committee, and other chamber committees. He organized mixers and member training events. He also managed Big Hat Days Home and Garden Show as well assisted with development and execution of many other business and community events.
As Sales Manager for North American Title Insurance Company from September 2002 to July 2008, Ed managed a six person sales team that marked title and escrow services to area real estate agents and mortgage lenders. All while involving personal telephone and electronic contacts with local agents and lenders. He also planned and executed marketing and real estate industry related training events and workshops to help prospects build and improve their business.
Actively involved in his community, Ed was helped in the founding of the Clovis Area Brokers organization in 1989 and served for several years as its chairman. The organization is now a committee of the Clovis Chamber and Ed still continues to serve in a supportive role. In addition to providing educational, networking, and fellowship opportunities to the local real estate community the group has raised over $1000 each year for the last several years for the Clovis Boys and Girls Club.
Also, during the early 90’s Ed was on the Board of Directors of the Clovis Rotary Club and was the Founding President of the Clovis- Sierra Heart Association that
raised money for Heart research and treatment locally. During this time Ed also coached his young daughter’s elementary age soccer team.
In the mid 90’s Ed worked with Jim Ware and the Chamber of Commerce with grass roots efforts to encourage the construction of Highway 168, which at the time was being resisted by a very vocal minority in Fresno.
In 2000 – 2001 Ed attended and completed the Chamber’s 2 year Leadership Clovis Training Program.
In 2002 – 2003 Ed was the Chairman of the Chamber developed Shaw Avenue Committee that worked with Shaw Avenue property owners, merchants, and
other city and community leaders towards the revitalization of this important
commercial artery of the Clovis Community. Efforts that helped with the
approval of the WalMart store, Lowes Store and several other large and small
improvements to the Shaw Avenue corridor. The group also accomplished the renaming of the area as “The Avenue” and helped to start a signage and banner program to brand the corridor as a destination place.
Ed has been on the board of directors for the Clovis Rotary Club for several years and was President for the Clubs 2008-2009 year. During his year he originated the Clubs Community Partners Magazine. A full color magazine that explains the Clubs service to the community also provides free exposure to many local service and charitable groups as well as raising money for service to the community. He continues as Chairman of this annual project. For his continuing service to Rotary he was recently awarded the Clovis Rotaries 2010 “Rotarian of the Year”.
He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Clovis Chamber and the Clovis Rotary Club and has recently been honored as “Business Champion of the Year” by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce.
Ed worked along with other Chamber leaders in passage of the CUSD Capital Improvement Bond and currently serves on the Clovis Unified School Districts Bond Citizens Oversight Committee, the CUSD Citizens Committee for Capital Facility Needs and is a supporter of the Foundation for Clovis Schools.
In June 2011, Ed was presented the “Community Award -Spirit of Clovis” by the Clovis Hall of Fame Council at their 18th Annual Clovis Hall of Fame Community Awards Gala.
He is currently an Independent Distributor with Send Out Cards, a relationship building greeting card company that “Changes Lives One Card at a Time”. He is also, an experienced, independent Real Estate Broker and Investor.
In addition, Ed currently Coaches and Facilitates the two-year Leadership Clovis Training Program. The program recognizes the importance of local leadership to the sustainability of our businesses, communities, and nation. This principle based leadership training programs mission is to promote, inspire, and empower local leadership and to help its students to lead productive, responsible lives in effective service to their families, communities and in the marketplace.
