The Community Benefit program at Kaiser Permanente-Fresno recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Clovis Unified Health Centers. The grant is expected to help serve 4,000 students with immunizations and health screenings. Kaiser has partnered with CUSD since 1998. Details: 448-4139

Fairwinds Retirement Home of Fresno created a 16 foot sandwich with the help of 65 residents, volunteers and employees. They were trying to make the record books for the longest sandwich. The sandwich and funds raised were donated to the Povarello House in downtown Fresno. Details: 434-6444

The Clovis Unified School District budget was given the Association of School Business Officials International Meritorious Budget Award of 2009 – 2010. They have won this award for 12 straight years.
