Clovis Chamber Leads the Way in Social Networking

The Clovis Chamber of Commerce is well connected in the social networking world. With a presence on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, we have expanded its networking reach that helps both the Chamber and its members.

You can find the Clovis Chamber on Twitter at www.twitter.com/ClovisChamber. The Chamber has been on Twitter since January 2009 and already has over a thousand followers. Most of them are local people and businesses from Clovis and Fresno or are chambers of commerce from around the U.S.

The Chamber’s Facebook account is www.facebook.com/ClovisChamber. Over the past year, the Chamber has been promoting its events on Facebook. We just launched a Clovis Chamber fan page, in addition to a ClovisFest fan page, and the group “Clovis is a Way of Life”. We just added a fan page for “Big Hat Days” that has 1,075 fans. .

Go to www.linkedIn.com for the Chamber’s connection. Three staff members have been active on LinkedIn since 2008. The Chamber has a group set up for Chamber members.

Our connections have actually helped the Chamber grow. We have gained several new members through our activities on Twitter and Facebook.

Mixer attendance has increased 40 to 50%. The only additional advertising and promotion has been our presence on social networking.

We are perceived as leaders in our community, providing members with social media training and providing an already paved path for our local businesses to connect with others online by friending, following and linking to the Chamber.

We have been recognized in the west coast Chamber industry as leaders, with the Clovis Chamber Twitter and LinkedIn accounts being used as examples by Curt Moss, VP Marketing with WebLink International at the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WW.A.C.E.) conference. We have also been cited by Scott Ashton of the Oceanside Chamber in a social media day long seminar sponsored by the California Chamber.
